G. Allen Brooks

Mr. Brooks has had a distinguished 40-year career in the energy and investment industries as an energy securities analyst, an oilfield service company manager, a consultant to energy company managements and a member of the board of directors of several oilfield service companies. For the past four years Mr. Brooks has been engaged in consulting as an advisor to Parks Paton Hoepfl & Brown, a boutique oilfield service investment banking firm. There he publishes his highly regarded energy newsletter, Musings From the Oil Patch and he provides proprietary research for the firm’s partners and assists on financial transactions. Mr. Brooks also consults with the chairman of the board of one of the largest offshore-focused oilfield service companies, concentrating on executive management, acquisition and financial and corporate strategy issues.

During his career as a Wall Street oilfield service securities analyst, Mr. Brooks was recognized as a Wall Street Journal All-Star analyst. For eight years he headed the oilfield service equity research team at CIBC World Markets and before that for four years was the senior oilfield service analyst with the New Orleans-based energy research firm, Howard Weil. Mr. Brooks was a member of the senior management team of ENSCO International, the Dallas-based international offshore contract drilling company, in the early 1990s. He was involved in corporate development, financial projects, investor relations, managed the legal department and was Corporate Secretary of the firm.

In the 1980s Mr. Brooks was a consultant with Offshore Data Services and served as the court appointed expert in the bankruptcy of Global Marine. He also consulted with the U.S. Maritime Administration in all their bankruptcy and financial restructuring cases involving offshore drilling and supply vessel companies. He also assisted various other secured lenders to the offshore industry in their restructuring and M&A activities.

Mr. Brooks is a member of the board of directors of Pason Systems Corp., where he is a member of the governance and compensation committees. He is also on the board of Deepwell Energy Services Trust where he heads the corporate governance committee and is a member of the compensation committee. Mr. Brooks is a member of the board of Turnkey E&P Inc. and is the head of the company’s audit committee and a member of the compensation and corporate governance committees.

Mr. Brooks started his investment career in 1969. An Economics graduate of the University of Connecticut, Mr. Brooks also has an M.S. degree in Economics from Cornell University. He received his Chartered Financial Analyst designation in 1975. He is an active member of the Houston chapter of the National Association of Corporate Directors. Mr. Brooks is married, has two grown children and four granddaughters, and lives in Houston, Texas.
